Kim Del Greco of FBI Discusses Next Generation Border Security with IDGA

Border Management Summit Southwest

NEW YORK--()--The challenge to manage our nation’s borders can only be answered by advancing surveillance, biometrics, detection, and information sharing technologies as they are pushed forward by policies and mandates of government. With the suspension of SBINet, a recent uproar for immigration reform, and the constant violence along the US-Mexico border, border security has become a top-priority within the Obama administration.

In an effort to address security developments of the southwest border, Kim Del Greco, Chief of Biometric Services Section (BSS), Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division of Science & Technology Branch(S&T), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) spoke with IDGA’s editor, Chris Archer, to discuss advancing technologies for border security. “The need for continued and enhanced biometric capabilities is vital for securing the country and protecting our borders,” Del Greco stated.

In this exclusive interview, Kim Del Greco further examines the Next Generation Identification (NGI) program and explores the FBI’s latest upgrade of the automated fingerprint identification system, the benefits of Biometric Enabled Intelligence to homeland security, and how this has been improved since 9/11. Kim Del Greco will be speaking at Border Management Summit Southwest, at the Wyndham El Paso, Texas on May 23-25th.
