Demand Media Taps Crid Yu To Drive Strategic Partnerships

Former Google and Philips Executive to Focus on Expanding Distribution

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Demand Media® (NYSE: DMD), a leading content and social media company, has named industry veteran Crid Yu as its senior vice president of strategic partnerships. Yu fills a new role at Demand Media where he will create and manage relationships that accelerate the company’s growth and expand its strategic footprint.

Yu joins Demand Media from Google where he held a variety of senior leadership positions over the past seven years. Most recently, he oversaw revenue and relations for the top 1000 strategic partners in Google's US Display Business. Among other roles, Yu was also a key management team member within the Asia Pacific region for many years where he helped establish Google’s China operation, he built and ran their business in Hong Kong and was the country director in Korea.

Prior to Google, Yu created new revenue opportunities for the Emerging Business Unit of Philipps Semiconductors. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where he focused on high tech assignments with Fortune 500 companies. Crid earned a BS and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
