SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI) announced today that John Bibb has been promoted to general counsel for the company. Bibb has served as KCI’s associate general counsel for the past eight years, focusing on acquisitions and licensing, corporate and securities law, corporate finance and commercial operations.
As general counsel, Bibb will act as the company’s chief legal officer and will be a member of KCI’s Executive Committee. Bibb succeeds Stephen Seidel, who had served as general counsel until August 2009 when he assumed the additional role of global president of KCI’s Therapeutic Support Systems business. Since that time, Bibb has assumed broader responsibility within KCI’s legal department.

Before joining KCI, Bibb practiced law at Cox & Smith, Inc. in San Antonio; Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston; and Echarri & Brindle, Abogados in Madrid, Spain. He graduated with honors from the Baylor School of Law in 1997 and served as Editor in Chief of the Baylor Law Review.
