Insyde® Software Ships InsydeH2O™ UEFI BIOS to Help Enable Tablets and Embedded Devices Based on the Intel® Atom™ Processor Z670

Industry’s Most Trusted UEFI Firmware Helps to Facilitate Mobile and Low-Power Embedded Devices with Widest Range of Operating System Support

BEAVERTON, Ore. & TAIPEI, Taiwan--()--Insyde Software, a leading provider of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) firmware and an affiliate member of the Intel® Embedded Alliance, today announced the availability of its flagship product InsydeH2O™ UEFI firmware for the new Intel® Atom™ processor Z670 and the Intel® SM35 Express chipset.

In addition to ensuring UEFI specification compliance, this version of InsydeH2O has been optimized to meet specific platform requirements such as fast booting, touch screen input, refined power management as well as providing operating system of choice. Insyde Software anticipates that its customers will ship Intel Atom processor Z670-based devices with InsydeH2O starting in Q2 2011 running Windows 7, Humanos™, MeeGo and a variety of other operating systems based on Android and Linux.

The latest generation of Intel Atom processors with InsydeH2O, will continue to drive new innovations across tablets and other mobile and embedded applications such as digital signage, medical equipment and industrial PCs. In addition to expanding the form-factor possibilities, the Intel Atom processor Z670 improves battery life over previous generations, offers a rich media and graphics experience, and boosts performance while providing broad operating system choice.
