IDGA Addresses US Demand for Military Armor in Order to Keep Warfighters Safe

ArmorCon 2011

NEW YORK--()--IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) are responsible for 58 percent of 2010 US troop fatalities in Afghanistan. With the increase in United States troops being sent to Afghanistan, the demand for enhanced protection of military assets becomes an ever-increasing challenge and opportunity for those involved in military armor solutions. Troops are still in danger and the current armor solutions in theater need to meet the changing requirements.

Congressman John Olver stated “one-third of deaths and casualties could have been avoided if proper body armor and vehicle armor had been provided from the start of the war.” Troops are still in danger and the current armor solutions in theater need to meet the changing requirements.

In an effort to address this crucial issue facing our government and troops, the ArmorCon Conference will bring the military armor community together to discuss their most relevant experience, intriguing ideas, and feasible solutions to better support the warfighters in harm's way. To address all pressing issues facing the military armor community, the ArmorCon Conference will display the latest armor technologies and solutions as well as in-depth discussions on the latest materials developments.
