Cream of Rice® Proudly Sponsors the Celiac Disease Foundation

Family Favorite breakfast brand supports Foundation’s mission to promote Celiac Disease awareness

PARSIPPANY, N.J.--()--B&G Foods, owner of Cream of Rice, a gluten-free American breakfast staple, announced a formal sponsorship of the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF), a foundation that strives to promote awareness of Celiac Disease and build a supportive community for patients, families and healthcare professionals.

Celiac Disease is one of the most common genetic conditions in the world, but often goes undiagnosed. It is estimated that 95 percent of Americans with the disease go undiagnosed. Through this sponsorship, Cream of Rice will support and further the Foundation’s mission to provide a greater understanding of Celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, dietary compliance, future therapies, associated conditions and the effect on family members.

“We have always supported the mission of the Celiac Disease Foundation, so entering into this sponsorship to formally recognize our support is a natural next step for us,” explained Jordan Greenberg, VP marketing for B&G Foods. “We know that living with gluten sensitivities can make finding diet-friendly food options challenging, and we’re happy to team up with the CDF to bring awareness and options to those who need it.”

“As the number of Americans with Celiac Disease and gluten allergies continues to rise, it’s crucial to offer easily accessible, affordable gluten-free food products to families looking for these types of options,” explained Elaine Monarch, Founder/Executive Director, Celiac Disease Foundation. “We are thrilled to add Cream of Rice to the roster of supporting partners and look forward to giving more people a delicious, healthy, gluten free breakfast option.”

A family favorite available at grocery stores nationwide, Cream of Rice is, and has always been, gluten-free, and when prepared with water, Cream of Rice is a naturally fat free, cholesterol free and sodium free food. A hot delicious bowl of Cream of Rice also provides three essential vitamins and minerals, including iron.

While Cream of Rice is often a recommended early food for infants and toddlers as it’s easy to digest, it can also be enjoyed as a warm breakfast option, as a gluten-free thickening agent for soups and stews, as a baking substitute for rice flour, or as a dinner side dish instead of potatoes or polenta.
