WeatherNation TV and NCTC Execute a Long-Term Agreement

DENVER--()--The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) and WeatherNation TV, Inc. have reached a new, long-term agreement for carriage of WeatherNation. As part of this deal, NCTC members will now be able to provide WeatherNation to their subscribers, beginning in Q2 of 2011.

“The U.S. has more severe weather activity than any nation on earth and the occurrence of these severe weather events is on the rise. Viewers want to find reliable and accurate weather being reported when they tune to a weather service,” said Michael Norton, Vice President, WeatherNation TV. “We’re pleased that the viewers of NCTC members will get exactly that with WeatherNation.”

Frank Hughes, SVP Programming for NCTC said: “Members have asked for options in their choice of weather networks, and we are pleased to provide our members an agreement with WeatherNation. This new service provides excellent weather coverage at a very reasonable cost, helping members fight against ever-increasing programming costs.”

WeatherNation TV’s dedicated all-meteorologist on-air staff leverage cutting-edge 3D mapping and display technologies to give viewers insight into breaking weather events and tell a more comprehensive story than has ever been available on TV in the U.S. “We’re pleased to offer our member operators access to this service to help their customers be ready for the weather that impacts their lives,” added NCTC’s Hughes.

WeatherNation TV is an all-weather news format, delivering 24/7 coverage of current weather events. WeatherNation TV schedules no documentary, entertainment or reality programming. An all-meteorologist staff utilizes the latest forecasting technology in combination with engaging and innovative graphic display to help viewers understand the in-depth story behind the weather that affects them.
