Merrill Unveils Three New Features in Merrill LTR (Lextranet® Transcript Repository) Release 5.13

Users can easily batch download transcripts and exhibits; schedule, update, review and change deposition details online, and manage exhibit numbering in multi-track, multi-party litigation.

ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the financial, healthcare, real estate, legal and other corporate markets, today announced three significant enhancements to Merrill LTR to give users even more flexibility in handling deposition matters.

Merrill LTR is a Web-based solution that allows court reporting clients to search and review transcripts, video depositions, exhibits and other deposition-related files. The release of Merrill LTR 5.13 presents three new features that enhance the already robust functionality of Merrill’s online transcript repository, including the ability to:

  • Batch download transcripts, exhibits and other case-related files
  • Schedule depositions, change settings and cancel online in one centralized calendar location
  • Simplify exhibit management through a database designed for multi-track, multi-party litigation

The exhibit management database is designed to help firms involved in multi-party, multi-track litigation manage exhibit numbering and organization. Clients or Merrill case managers can upload documents that may be introduced as exhibits during depositions into the online database, and then documents are identified by automatically generated Merrill LTR control numbers, Bates numbers and titles. Once documents are introduced into testimony, the assigned exhibit numbers are entered into the online database, allowing marked exhibits to always be identified by the same exhibit number in multiple depositions and throughout the litigation.

Merrill LTR also now has the added ability to bulk download transcripts and exhibits, in addition to its unique capacity for hosting, searching and managing documents. By simply checking the box next to a listed item and choosing batch download or batch print from the Action Options menu, clients can easily download or print any or all case-related documents.

The Merrill LTR online scheduling tool increases the calendar database functionality by not only allowing users to schedule online, but also to edit any of the data within a deposition setting, such as date, time, location or any of the services requested. Rescheduling or cancelling depositions online has never been easier. By clicking the icons next to the scheduled deposition, clients can update their calendar to match their changing needs. E-mails confirming all changes are immediately sent out to clients.

“We constantly listen to our clients and work to improve our online repository in ways that respond to their needs,” says Keith Di Lorenzo, regional vice president of court reporting operations and product management for Merrill. “Our clients requested functionality components that included batch downloading documents, editing deposition settings online and assistance with organizing exhibits in complex litigation. We responded by providing this new Merrill LTR functionality that gives clients easy access to and organization of case-related documents and interactive online case calendars. Our clients always know that Merrill has them covered.”
