ST. PAUL, Minn. & TEL AVIV, Israel--()--If you are one of the 60 million Americans who live and work outside of densely populated areas, up until now high speed Broadband Internet access has been expensive and unreliable – if it was available at all.
“Today’s announcement is much more than a marketing and technology agreement”
Today, two companies on opposite sides of the globe are combining their technology leadership, market focus and sales reach to bring 4G WiMAX/LTE Broadband Internet service to remote users in the U.S. and around the globe.
Twin Cities-based LocaLoop, Inc. an innovator in low-cost wireless Broadband Internet service for underserved and rural markets, and Israeli-based Runcom Technologies, a developer of leading 4G Broadband communications products and services for cellular phone networks, announced a global Strategic Marketing and Technology Agreement.
Under terms of the agreement, Runcom is adapting its leading 4G network hardware to improve economics in serving low density markets and will become LocaLoop’s preferred supplier for 4G network equipment. LocaLoop is combining its patented cloud technology business management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform with Runcom’s 4G equipment. LocaLoop is now marketing this turnkey solution to its Broadband Internet service provider customers. This combined solution enables fast and profitable deployment in underserved rural markets for both fixed and mobile applications, starting in the nine-state region of the upper Midwestern U.S.
“Today’s announcement is much more than a marketing and technology agreement,” said Carl-Johan Torarp, LocaLoop founder and CEO. “LocaLoop’s ‘pay as you grow’ network and business management software for wireless Broadband Internet operators and Runcom’s leadership in 4G network hardware complement one another perfectly. Together we are able to deliver a powerful turnkey 4G wireless network solution with capabilities that we could not achieve individually. This combination creates a uniquely competitive advantage, not available before.”
“This strategic alliance with LocaLoop accelerates our U.S. market penetration and strengthens our technology and price performance capabilities as we participate in the largest and most competitive market in the world,” said Moshe Levinson, Runcom Technologies CEO.
About LocaLoop
LocaLoop was founded by Carl-Johan Torarp in
2003 with the vision of creating a mobile broadband wireless solution,
affordable for mainstream users both in their homes and on the go.
Torarp, an inventor of LocaLoop’s 4G Mobile WiMAX/LTE enabling
technology (3 issued patents, 1 pending), and electrical engineer by
training, is an entrepreneur and international business leader with more
than three decades experience in the computer and telecommunications
industries. LocaLoop develops and commercializes products and solutions
for 4G Mobile Broadband Internet designed for rural markets of the
world. LocaLoop’s patented technology platform, LocaLoopNET™ delivers a
virtual Network Operations Center (NOC) to manage 4G networks and its
subscribers for Internet Service Providers through a
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business management platform. This “cloud
computing” architecture eliminates deployment costs for traditional NOCs
running many on-premises software applications in a local data center.
The Broadband Internet services are delivered to consumers and
businesses under the LocaLoop’s synKro™ brand. The technology also
dynamically manages bandwidth as traffic volume grows, limiting
congestion slowdowns.
