One of the company’s recent innovations, MyHumana Mobile, has been honored as this year’s “Best Medical App” at the first-ever Appy Awards during the Online Media, Marketing and Advertising (OMMA) Global Conference and Expo in San Francisco.

The free MyHumana app features a mobile member information tool that shows users personalized details about their health plan on demand, including their Member ID number, group name and number, deductibles and copayments. Members can also check their claim status and details.
The app also leverages a phone’s GPS to search for health care providers and to obtain provider credentials, affiliations, phone numbers, driving directions and maps. Members can also use the app to review drug prices and alternative drug options – all of which they can discuss with their doctor. The mobile spending account viewer displays recent activity and current balance details for people using spending accounts, such as Health Savings Accounts.
MyHumana Mobile text-messaging alerts are available to members interested in health and wellness alerts, such as flu-shot reminders. Humana also has health entertainment apps including Colorfall and Goldwalker. The latest Humana Fit app encourages healthy behaviors using social networking.
MyHumana Mobile launched in March 2010 and continues to regularly add more personalized resources. MyHumana Mobile has a 4.5-star rating in Apple’s App Store and can be downloaded for Apple’s iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. MyHumana Mobile is also available from the Android Market for phones running Google’s Android operating system.
