At Alliance, Waheed will help clients engage with Institutional Shareholder Services (“ISS”), as well as guide them through M&A transactions and proxy contests. With experience on more than 100 contested M&A transactions and proxy contests, Waheed brings a deep knowledge of ISS’s policies and strong understanding of activist investors.

Prior to joining Alliance, Waheed led the M&A/Proxy Contest research team at ISS - a division of MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI). At ISS, he advised institutional investors on numerous high-profile proxy contests including Conseco Inc., Atmel, Bassett Furniture, Office Depot, NRG Energy, Target Corp., Denny’s, and Barnes & Noble. Additionally, he was involved in several contested M&A transactions: Silicon Storage Technologies, Airvana Inc, Cedar Fair, VaxGen, Inter-Tel, Cablevision Systems, Grey Wolf, Bronco Drilling, IPC Holdings, FirstEnergy, Symyx, and Alpha Natural Resources.

A CFA charter holder, Waheed also received an MBA with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from Vanderbilt University.
