--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Easton-Bell Sports:
WHAT: |
Easton-Bell Sports CEO Paul Harrington will join Little League Baseball President Stephen Keener, California Interscholastic Federation Executive Director Marie Ishida, and high-school baseball player Gunnar Sandberg to unveil the new Easton Sports prototypes for baseball pitcher helmets.
Though serious injuries are rare, baseball pitchers without head protection face a level of risk that can be addressed through the development of a well-designed baseball pitching helmet. Easton-Bell Sports is leading research and development for a new era of baseball head protection, designed to provide baseball pitchers with the protection they desire without compromising comfort or performance.
One year ago, Gunnar Sandberg, a high school baseball pitcher from Marin County, was struck and seriously injured by a batted baseball during a game. Gunnar made a triumphant recovery and is back on the field, but he and his family are pursuing increased safety for baseball pitchers to prevent other athletes from suffering similar injuries.
TOUR/VISUALS: Following the news conference, credentialed media will be provided tours of the Easton Helmet Technology Center. Called the “Dome,” the 45,000 square-foot research and development facility opened in 2010. Helmet research experts will guide visitors through the design process and demonstrate helmet impact tests. Actual prototypes will be available for pictures. |
