Prepaid Card Processor i2c Expands International Presence

Global demand for flexible, scalable and secure prepaid processing platform fuels growth

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--i2c, Inc., a prepaid and payment processing company, today announced several additions to its global client roster. The expansion spans three continents and reflects strong demand for their My Card PlaceSM (MCP) processing platform which is used by card issuers and program managers to quickly launch, grow and manage profitable prepaid card programs.

In Europe, a Stockholm-based payment acquirer servicing banks and merchants worldwide will use MCP to manage prepaid payroll programs. In Central America, a leading bank card and merchant services provider based in Belize recently launched a program to bring prepaid cards to credit union consumers throughout the Caribbean.

i2c has also made forays into Africa and South America. A Johannesburg-based ATM and prepaid card processor has partnered with i2c to upgrade its processing technology which is currently used to power some of the largest prepaid programs in South Africa. In Brazil, a major currency exchange and consumer financial services company based in Sao Paulo is using MCP to issue prepaid travel cards to consumers throughout South America.

“As prepaid continues to experience strong worldwide growth, i2c has sought to fill what we believe is a void in the global prepaid processing marketplace – the lack of a processing platform flexible and robust enough to meet the unique requirements of international prepaid card issuers and program managers,” said Amir Wain, Chief Executive Officer of i2c.

“We are a company driven by innovation and new ways of thinking and we will continue to couple that with our deep knowledge and experience in the payments industry to bring the latest in processing, loyalty and mobile to companies across the globe,” he said.
