Posty Cards Unveils 1st Commercially Available ChargePoint Electric Vehicle Charging Station in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area

CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coulomb Technologies today announced that Posty Cards has installed the first publicly available ChargePoint® networked charging station in the Kansas City Metropolitan area at its headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. Installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations can earn a company LEED building credit and the Posty Cards headquarters facility is seeking to become Platinum LEED Certified, the highest energy and environmental designation available in the United States. Sales and installation of the ChargePoint stations was completed by Lilypad EV via Coulomb’s Midwest/Chicago distributor Carbon Day Automotive.

ChargePoint networked charging stations are managed by the ChargePoint® Network. This enables Posty Cards to control access to their corporate ChargePoint stations, enabling only authorized users to charge their vehicles. ChargePoint also reports on electricity consumption for accounting and budgeting purposes, and green house gas emission reductions for each user. ChargePoint provides EV drivers the ability to locate and navigate to charging stations anywhere on the ChargePoint Network, and check station availability from any smart phone or web browser. The ChargePoint Network also facilitates EV trip mapping, driver billing, 24/7 driver assistance, and energy savings measurements.

Coulomb’s CT2100 ChargePoint charging stations have dual outputs that deliver charge simultaneously. Stations supply both a 7.2 kW Level II output delivering 208 - 240 VAC @ 30 Amps via a standard SAE J1772™ connector attached by a fixed 18-foot cable, and a 2 kW Level 1 output delivering 120 VAC @ 16 Amps via a standard NEMA 5-20 receptacle protected behind a locking door.

The Posty Cards new headquarters facility features the largest solar panel installation in the Kansas City region, solar heated water, high-efficiency variable volume HVAC, natural lighting with active artificial lighting controls, rain water reclamation for irrigation and flushing toilets, and native plant landscaping. The project, led by Turner Construction Company and McHenry Shaffer Mitchell Architects, is expected to be the first LEED Platinum manufacturing facility in the United States.
