RingCentral Now Available on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android

New apps power up the smartphone to enable employees to use it as their primary full featured business phone for the RingCentral Business Phone System

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--RingCentral, the leader in cloud based business phone systems, announced today the availability of iPhone, BlackBerry and Android apps. The apps enable smartphones to directly tie to a business’ RingCentral phone system. This enables the employees to use their smartphones as their primary business phone device, while fully preserving their separate personal identity on the same phone. RingCentral’s iPhone, BlackBerry and Android apps are available for free to RingCentral customers.

“With an increasing number of businesses using smartphones such as iPhone and Android devices for business, maintaining direct access to customers is critical – no matter where business is being conducted or where the employees are based”

In a 2010 RingCentral survey of 400 customers, 79 percent of respondents cited the smartphone as the phone they used most to conduct business, as compared to an office phone or home phone. The rapid growth of smartphone adoption as the primary business phone is driving a critical new need for businesses. They want to ensure that while their employees have the mobile flexibility; the business is running efficiently and that their customers have professional interaction with employees using these smartphones.

RingCentral’s smartphone apps enable a company’s employees to maintain a professional image while working from distributed and remote locations with their mobile phones. Key features include:

  • Make calls from mobile phones using the RingCentral business number as the caller ID
  • Business call logs that are automatically synchronized with information such as calls made, missed and received, and provide the capability to return calls directly from them
  • Automatically updated company phone directory that also allows direct calls to any employee with a single touch
  • Visual business voicemails and faxes are automatically synchronized and kept separate from the personal side of the phone. They also can be forwarded to anyone inside or outside the company
  • Make VoIP calls over WiFi and 3G networks when travelling internationally, cell coverage is poor or when the users does not want to use expensive wireless carrier calling minutes

“With an increasing number of businesses using smartphones such as iPhone and Android devices for business, maintaining direct access to customers is critical – no matter where business is being conducted or where the employees are based,” said Vlad Shmunis, CEO of RingCentral. “RingCentral’s full suite of smartphone apps provides seamless connectivity to support today’s distributed businesses to run efficiently.”
