GREENVILLE, S.C.--()--AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions, has developed its first AEC Q200 qualified miniature surface mount LC T configured FeedThru filter. The miniature surface mount LC T configured FeedThru filters are a highly reliable solution to ever increasing automotive EMI concerns in critical systems. The FeedThru filters provide design engineers with consistent broadband EMI filtering for critical drive by wire applications such as throttle and braking. In addition, a single miniature FeedThru filter can replace up to three discrete devices and save board space by approximately 75%.
“FeedThru filters are so reliable that the automotive qualified devices have received additional screening and are now used in space craft.”
“Drive by wire applications are rapidly growing due to their positive impact on improving internal combustion vehicle efficiency. Improved efficiency can range from better mileage to a safer, more responsive transportation platform,” said Tim Piver, product manager at AVX. “FeedThru filters are so reliable that the automotive qualified devices have received additional screening and are now used in space craft.”
The miniature surface mount LC T configured FeedThru filters typically provide a beneficial broadband (minus) -30dB of attenuation across a 300 MHz frequency spectrum. The response can start as low as 75 MHz or end as high as 1500 MHz. The FeedThru filters are available in high current ratings ranging from 2 amps steady state in 0805 to 5 amps steady state in 1206 packages. Additionally they are available in 4-element array configuration for display, keyboard and communication interfaces.
Typical pricing is $0.13 depending on volume with a lead time of 12 weeks.
