RBF Consulting's Cindy Miller and Josue Vaglienty Honored by ASCE Orange County

IRVINE, Calif.--()--RBF Consulting (RBF) Vice President Cindy Miller, PE, and Associate Josue Vaglienty, PE, were both honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Orange County Branch at their Annual Awards Dinner. At the February 17 event held at the Hilton, in Irvine, California, Ms. Miller was recognized as an Engineer of Merit; while Mr. Vaglienty was named Young Engineer of the Year. The ASCE OC award ceremony, honoring outstanding engineers and civil engineering projects, befittingly kicked off National Engineers Week, officially taking place February 20 – 26. Engineers Week was established to raise public awareness of the contributions engineers make in our communities to improve the quality of life and the environment and to motivate younger generations to pursue careers in engineering.

Cindy Miller, a graduate from the University of California, Irvine, is a registered Professional Engineer in California and Utah, with over 16 years of experience in water resources engineering. Ms. Miller was selected by the ASCE Orange County as an Engineer of Merit for her civil engineering contributions on notable projects in Orange County, Southern California and internationally, including the Baker Water Treatment Plant, the Orange County Groundwater Storage Program, Planning Area 30 and 51 Great Park / Great Park Neighborhoods – Master Planning Support Services, Chino Desalters Project, and Vista Serena Resort and Cabo Hacienda in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In addition to ASCE, Cindy is an active member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Orange County Water Association (OCWA) and Past President of the University of California, Irvine Civil and Environmental Engineering Affiliates.

Josue Vaglienty received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2003. Josue is an Associate in RBF’s Transportation Engineering service group and has served as a Project/Design Engineer on numerous Public Works transportation improvement projects in Southern California, including the State Route 91 Westbound Widening (I-5 to SR-57), the State Route 57 Northbound Widening (SR-91 to Yorba Linda Blvd) and the development of the State Route 241 Foothill Transportation Corridor. Mr. Vaglienty has served the Orange County ASCE Younger Member Forum (YMF) in numerous Board of Director positions since becoming a member in 2001. Currently the Chair of the K – 12 Outreach Program for the Orange County Branch of ASCE, he is also an active member of Engineers Without Borders, Orange County Chapter and ACE (Architecture, Construction, & Engineering) Mentoring Program, Los Angeles Chapter.
