Talend Integration Factory is Major Step Forward in Democratizing ESB Market

Production-Ready Version of Apache Camel Open Source Project Now Available For Free Download

LOS ALTOS, Calif.--()--Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced the release of Talend Integration Factory, a production-ready distribution of the popular open source project Apache Camel, offering message mediation and routing capabilities to developers. This announcement follows the successful December 2010 introduction of Talend Service Factory, a repackaged distribution of Apache CXF, optimized for the enterprise. With the launch of a second major product initiative, Talend has now successfully integrated Sopera, which it acquired last November, into the organization and accelerated development and production of application integration solutions.

“Talend Integration Factory is the next stage in democratizing the ESB market, making it accessible to a much broader group of developers and organizations,” said Scott Devens, general manager of Talend’s Application Integration Division. “By addressing the primary challenges that developers face, namely access to low cost, powerful development tools that are stable, easy-to-use and fully supported, Talend Integration Factory is a significant step forward.”

Talend Integration Factory, based on Apache Camel, uses well known Enterprise Integration Patterns to make message-based system integration easier to implement, yet more powerful and scalable. Key features include:

  • Fully supported, stable, production-ready product based on the industry leading open source integration framework. Comes pre-configured in a single installable package ready to deploy in environments including OSGi, Apache Tomcat, JEE servers and standalone JVM.
  • Lightweight, component-based architecture which implements Enterprise Integration Patterns and supports a broad set of protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, XMPP, RSS and more), data formats (EDI, JSON, CSV, HL7) and languages (Javascript, Python, Scala). Built on an extensible architecture, developers can easily add support for proprietary and custom data formats.
  • Documented examples based on real-world experience implementing integration solutions providing developers with a fast and easy way to get started.
