WASHINGTON--()--Following Sen. Jon Kyl’s (R-AZ) decision to not seek re-election in 2012, FreedomWorks PAC endorses Jeff Flake in the Arizona Senate race as the clear choice for limited government voters.
“Rep. Flake has a long history of protecting the Constitution, and relentlessly fighting against runaway government spending and corruption since well before it was popular. Never taking an earmark in his entire career, Flake is a long-time leading voice in the once lonely fight against pork barrel spending”
“Rep. Flake has a long history of protecting the Constitution, and relentlessly fighting against runaway government spending and corruption since well before it was popular. Never taking an earmark in his entire career, Flake is a long-time leading voice in the once lonely fight against pork barrel spending,” commented Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks PAC.
“Rep. Flake is a principled advocate of limited government, courageously fighting government growth whether it was supported by President Bush and a Republican Congress or President Obama and a Democrat Congress.”
In 2006, Flake was tossed from the prestigious House Judiciary Committee by the new Republican minority, a punishment blamed by some on his non-partisan pork busting.
“Rep. Flake will be a critical vote in the next Senate on behalf of core limited government issues. And his leadership in combating the big government agenda of the liberal establishment will be critical to FreedomWorks PAC’s overarching mission to ‘Take America Back’ on behalf of freedom come 2013,” added Kibbe.
“Endorsing Jeff Flake is a no-brainer,” commented Kibbe. “He’s principled, he’s consistent, and he’s fearless in the fight for lower taxes, less government, and more individual freedom. If the Tea Party is going to reduce the size of government, it will need more Jeff Flakes in the United States Senate.”
FreedomWorks PAC’s network of grassroots activists will be on the ground supporting Jeff Flake through numerous Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts, including direct mailings, yard sign distribution, volunteer phone banks and neighborhood literature drops leading up to election day. This same network of activists played a pivotal role in electing “Champions of Freedom” in 2010, including new Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), and Rand Paul (R-K.Y.).
