Fuji Xerox Tokyo Co., Ltd. Receives 2010 CompTIA Authorized Service Provider Award

Recognized for its effective use of CompTIA certification programs to further its business capabilities and opportunities

TOKYO--()--CompTIA Japan, the leading association for the information technology (IT) industry, announced today that it has honored Fuji Xerox Tokyo Co., Ltd. with its CompTIA Authorized Service Provider Award for 2010.

The award recognizes Fuji Xerox Tokyo Co., Ltd. for its effective use of CompTIA certification programs to experience substantive improvement in their productivity and customer satisfaction. The organization understands the role CompTIA certification programs can have in developing greater effectiveness and leadership in the IT industry.

“Today’s technology environment relies on workers with greater versatility and a broader skill set than was required in the past,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. “Professional certification is a proven method for improving technical and business skills and knowledge. CompTIA is very pleased to recognize Fuji Xerox Tokyo for the growth and success they have attained."

"In order to keep pace with the changes and to provide better service to our customers, our company, especially the service department, became the core force to produce new type of values," said Tomoyuki Fukushi, general manager, Service Planning Department, Document Service & Support Headquarters, Fuji Xerox Tokyo. "In addition to the original role of providing products maintenance service, the department has new roles of identifying challenges through customer interactions and acquiring additional business opportunities in relation to the product based infrastructure environment."

Beginning in 2008 Fuji Xerox Tokyo initiated a restructure in its human resources development with the purpose of achieving the midterm business plan. This restructure was first implemented to personnel of sales but later it was applied to approximately 1,000 employees of the service department. This project was to stimulate and bring success to human resources development strategically.

"Many document imaging and printing devices are inescapably tied to other technologies such as networks and security," said Tomoyuki Fukushi, Fuji Xerox Tokyo. "A high level of understanding of customers' information infrastructure environment is also required when installing and operating these devices."

With knowledge of the positive experience of Xerox US and CompTIA, Fuji Xerox customer service headquarters concluded that developing higher levels of skills is the faster way to bring more opportunities in this field. The company selected CompTIA certification programs as an effective index for it.

Supported by CompTIA certifications, Fuji Xerox was ranked first in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by a third party research company in 2010.

Currently CompTIA A+ and PDI+ are mandatory for basic level service personnel, followed by CompTIA Network+, Server+ and Security+ for mid-level personnel; and CompTIA CDIA+ and Project+ for manager level personnel.

CompTIA is the leading provider of vendor neutral skills certifications for the world’s IT workforce. More than 1.4 million IT professionals around the world are CompTIA certified.
