Loma Linda University Medical Center Expands Agreement with Aegis Health Group to Include Physician Relationship Management Solutions

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) has engaged Aegis Health Group to help implement and manage a strategic physician relationship management program aimed at building physician loyalty and enhancing opportunities between the medical center and the local physician community. LLUMC has been successfully using Aegis’ employer-directed health-management program for more than a decade, and this new agreement expands upon that relationship.

As part of the physician relationship management program, Aegis will integrate the latest technology with a high-touch approach to assist LLUMC in fostering cohesive and mutually beneficial relationships with its medical staff. Under the agreement, Aegis will provide a physician relations specialist on site to serve as a liaison between the medical center and its physicians who will oversee the program on a day-to-day basis. Using Aegis’ proprietary software, PRISM, the liaison will effectively record and track vital data about physicians’ utilization patterns and respond to doctors’ requests in a personal and efficient manner.

As the primary regional tertiary medical facility for inland Southern California, LLUMC’s medical staff includes more than 1,000 physicians. “Maintaining strong relationships with our physicians is of utmost importance to Loma Linda,” said Tammy Veach, LLUMC’s executive director of marketing.

“Aegis’ goal is to support Loma Linda in their efforts to strengthen the loyalty with their physicians,” said Rochell Pierce, vice president of physician relationship management for Aegis. “A targeted, strategic and measurable approach to physician relationship management will help Loma Linda clearly identify who their doctors are, where they are sending patients, and how they can work better together so that everyone benefits.” The program between Loma Linda and Aegis that has been in place since the late 1990s takes a similar approach to building relationships, but is focused on the local business community. Through that program, Aegis is helping LLUMC partner with local employers to better manage the health of their workforce and, by doing so, reduce employers’ rising healthcare costs. Using data gathered through personal health profiles provided by Aegis, at-risk employees are matched with appropriate early detection, prevention and education initiatives offered by the hospital. The results are improved community health and significant cost-savings for the employers.

“By integrating the physician component with the employer component, Loma Linda is now focused on the two main sources for growth and market share positioning,” said Pierce. “That combination further establishes this already great medical center as the ‘go-to’ destination for the community’s healthcare needs.”
