Employers in Tri-State Area Optimistic on Hiring in 2011

CheckPoint HR Saw Hiring Increase By 4% in 2010

EDISON, N.J.--()--CheckPoint HR, the trusted ally in web-based Human Resources management for small to mid-sized companies, today reports that employment for small to medium sized businesses in the Tri-State area grew by 4% in 2010, a substantial improvement from the job losses seen in 2009. The company further noted that job growth grew by 1% in the month of December further evidence that current job creation continues to improve.

CheckPoint HR’s data is polled from its more than 400 customers in the Tri-State area. In December 2010, CheckPoint HR conducted a survey of its customers to determine employer’s outlook for 2011.

According to survey respondents, more than 50% responded that they felt business was better in 2010 than in the previous year. Additionally, 49% responded that they were planning to maintain staff in 2011, while 39% plan to increase staff and 64% are planning to increase salaries in 2011.

“While employment did not rebound as quickly as everyone had hoped for in 2010, hiring did out pace employee terminations which is a good sign for the economy,” said Neil Friedman, CFO, CheckPoint HR. “According to our survey results, employers in the Tri-State area are much more optimistic on employment and business growth for 2011 which is consistent with the data we are seeing so far.”
