Trada Hires Search Veterans Tim Mayer and Ben Wright to Support Its Rapid Expansion

Former Yahoo Executives Bring a Combined 25 Years of Search Experience to Trada

BOULDER, Colo.--()--Trada, the world’s first crowdsourced paid search marketplace, has hired Tim Mayer and Ben Wright, both seasoned innovators in search and online advertising, to its executive team. Mayer will become Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for sales, marketing, product development and operations. Wright will serve as Vice President of Service Delivery and Marketplace, in charge of account management, optimizer management and marketplace support services at Trada.

“When we made the decision to hire additional leadership to support our rapid growth, we actively sought top talent from the search and online advertising industry,” said Trada CEO Niel Robertson. “We couldn’t have found a better pair than Tim and Ben. Both have unequaled experience in both start-up and large company environments from top companies in the industry.”

Mayer was previously Vice President of Yahoo’s search business and has been a leader in the evolution of search over a 15-year career in the industry. In seven years at Yahoo, Mayer held several global leadership roles within Search, commerce businesses, front-page programming and other key endeavors.

Prior to Yahoo, Mayer held management positions for several companies including Overture Services, where he was Vice President of search products, Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), where he was General Manager and Vice President of the Web search division, Inktomi, where he was Director of Product Management and The Thomson Corporation.

“Trada has an innovative approach to solving the challenges advertisers and agencies face when running paid search campaigns. In 2011, we will be growing the paid search marketplace as well as expanding this approach to other performance marketing channels to become the most efficient way to manage and execute marketing campaigns across search, social and display,” said Mayer.

Wright is a 10-year search marketing veteran, holding multiple leadership positions within account management and agency and channel sales teams. Most recently, he was Senior Director of Search Creative Development at Yahoo, where he oversaw creative development and performance optimization for advertisers running Yahoo Search Marketing campaigns. Prior to Yahoo, Wright held account management positions at GoTo.com, which later became Overture Services and was acquired by Yahoo in 2003.

Wright will oversee Trada’s community of more than 1,000 paid search experts as well as account management for advertisers in the Trada Marketplace.

“Having been deeply involved in the paid search industry since its inception, it’s fantastic to again be at the forefront of a new development in online advertising. Crowdsourcing optimization will make running performance based digital campaigns more accessible and successful for advertisers than ever before,” said Wright.
