Post University to Reorganize into Four Distinct Schools Reflecting Core Academic Disciplines

Schools of Business, Education, Public Service and Undergraduate Post College will Enhance Student Support and Academic Excellence; Two Deans Named

WATERBURY, Conn.--()--Post University, a traditional university with an excellent online program, announced today it will reorganize into four distinct schools to better serve its diverse and growing student body, and focus on development of curricula that meet the changing needs of students and employers.

The new Post University structure will include a School of Business, a School of Education, a School of Public Service and an undergraduate Post College. Donald Mroz, Ph.D., the current director of Post University’s online MBA degree program, has been named Dean of the School of Business. Jane Bailey, Ed.D., who played a major role in development and accreditation of the university’s Master of Education program, has been named Dean of the School of Education. The search continues for Deans of the School of Public Service and Post College.

“This new structure will allow us to better focus on educational outcomes within each discipline, align our undergraduate and graduate programs and ensure greater overall academic integrity among all our programs,” said Ronald W. Ogrodnik, Ph.D., President of Post University. “I am pleased that Dr. Mroz and Dr. Bailey have agreed to take on enhanced roles within the Post community. Our next step is to recruit leaders of the School of Public Service and Post College who will bring the same commitment to high academic standards and exceptional student support.”

In the past two years, Post University has brought on a team of scholar-practitioners to serve as Academic Program Managers, who are responsible for face-to-face and online teaching, outcomes-based curriculum development, and the supervision of instructional staff. The managers are intensely focused on understanding and responding to the needs of Post’s diverse student body, many of whom work full or part time while earning their degrees.

“This innovative hiring model has resulted in a team of creative, experienced leaders who are capable of guiding the development of a curriculum that can meet the changing needs of students and employers,” said Ogrodnik. “Our Academic Program Managers understand the challenges our students face both in the classroom and in their daily lives.”

Dr. Mroz has been instrumental in the development of an innovative, applied online MBA degree program that includes concentrations in corporate innovation, entrepreneurship, finance, leadership and marketing. He has previously taught at the University of Michigan and University of North Carolina. He received his Ph.D. from Fielding Graduate University and holds a B.S. from Northern Michigan University and Masters degrees from Fielding and Eastern Michigan University. He also brings more than 25 years experience in the business world.

Dr. Bailey, who launched the University’s online Master of Education degree program that includes concentrations in teaching & learning, and instructional design & technology, brings more than 25 years of higher education experience to her position. Prior to joining Post in 2009, she held positions at the College of William and Mary and Christopher Newport University. She received an Ed.D. in Higher Education from the College of William and Mary; a Master of Arts in Education from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York College at Oneonta.
