CUPERTINO, Calif.--()--Chip Path Design Systems (www.ChipPath.com) today announced it has secured $3M in Series-A funding from Scientific Ventures, Lanza techVentures, and Xilinx Corporation. The company focuses on a new area it calls Semantic-IC Design, aimed at revolutionizing how companies design ICs (Integrated Circuits). This is the company’s first funding round.

Chip Path Design Systems is led by Electronic Design Automation (EDA) pioneer George Janac serving as CEO and Chairman. “We see great opportunities in rolling up IC Design with EDA and Semiconductor-IP,” said Janac, “With this round of funding we can greatly compress our delivery timeline and gained a key partner in our quest for ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) interoperability.”
CEO Janac will also be joined on the Board of Directors by Mark Templeton, managing partner of Scientific Ventures. Additionally, Lucio Lanza, managing partner of Lanza techVentures will join the board. Mr. Lanza also serves on the boards of PDF Solutions, Forte Design Systems, Pharmix Inc, and others.
The Company plans to announce and release products in rapid succession over the coming year. Proceeds from the financing will be used to accelerate the building of distribution channels and market delivery of products.
