HP Opens HP Sales University in Plano, Texas

PLANO, Texas--()--HP (NYSE: HPQ) today announced the opening of the HP Sales University, a multimillion-dollar training facility that will provide HP sales professionals the tools and techniques to deliver solutions that help clients on their journeys to becoming Instant-On Enterprises.

The campus spans several thousand square feet at HP’s site in Plano, Texas. It employs advanced learning techniques and leverages HP Instant-On Enterprise business solutions to ensure speed and agility that can facilitate distance learning and future growth.

Innovations include the integration of advanced HP digital signage technologies, including a 10-foot interactive touch wall for collaborative exercises, and translation booths with an advanced wireless network used to support non-English-speaking students. The campus also offers multiple HP Visual Collaboration rooms for virtual sessions, while an HP Networking wireless network provides secure connectivity for students. The network also supports a state-of-the-art business center and a “Reality TV” simulation room.

HP’s investment in the HP Sales University is central to its vision for the Instant-On Enterprise, where organizations embed technology into everything they do to better address the rapidly changing needs of customers and citizens. Thousands of HP sales professionals from around the world are expected to be educated at the facility over the next year.

Attendees will learn how HP’s broad portfolio of hardware, software, services and solutions can be used to close the gap between what customers and citizens expect and what enterprises can deliver.

The HP Sales University, headed by Joanne Moretti, is part of the company’s overall learning and development strategy that aims to develop the industry’s best workforce to maximize business performance. The learning model is based on a combination of experience-based, relationship-based and traditional training. These learning modes are blended and delivered via in-person and virtual classroom instruction, as well as self-paced on the web.

The first set of training for HP sales staff begins today.
