Janet L. Walsh Joins Minerals Technologies Inc. as Vice President, Human Resources

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Minerals Technologies Inc. (NYSE: MTX) announced today that Janet L. Walsh has joined Minerals Technologies as Vice President, Human Resources, succeeding D. Randy Harrison, who will now focus full-time on his responsibilities as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain. Ms. Walsh will be an officer of Minerals Technologies and a member of the company’s Leadership Council.

Janet Walsh joins the company from Birchtree Global, LLC, a consulting firm she founded in 1999 that provided management expertise in human resources, financial, tax, legal and immigration management to more than 150 clients worldwide. During her 11 years as principal of Birchtree, Ms. Walsh designed, developed and implemented comprehensive, global HR solutions for multi-industry businesses throughout the world.

Ms. Walsh also served as Senior Adjunct Professor and Curriculum Author at the Keller Graduate School of DeVry University from 1994 to 2010, where she developed the Human Resources MBA Capstone, International Business and Business Analytics courses for 90,000 students in undergraduate and MBA programs.

From 1991 to 1999, she served as Director, Global Human Resources for the Mead Corporation. In that capacity she led the company’s global human resources activities in Asia, the America’s, and Europe as the company expanded operations to serve a growing market need for packaging products. From 1987 to 1990, she was United States Human Resources Manager for the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications.

Ms. Walsh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Loyola University in Baltimore. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center in Atlanta and a member of the Board of Advisors of DeVry University. She served on the executive committee of the Alumni Board of Directors of Bucknell University from 2000 to 2010, and from 2000 to 2006 she was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Digital Content Technology Initiative. She was also a contributing author for the books Contemporary Economics for Managers and HR Metrics.
