SEATTLE--()--Earth Class Mail, a leader in providing online mail management solutions, announced today that CEO Sarah Carr won a Stevie Award for “Best Executive” at the annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, held Fri., Nov. 12, 2010, in New York City.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, entrepreneurs and the organizations they run. The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business AwardsSM.

Carr was appointed president of Earth Class Mail and promoted to CEO and chairman of the board in 2009. Upon being named CEO, her immediate mandate was to refocus the business to ensure its survival by stemming company losses of nearly a million dollars a month. Carr led the struggling company through a seismic shift, redefining the business model and ultimately putting the company on the road to recovery and profitability.
Prior to Earth Class Mail, Carr served president and COO of Print, Inc., leading the company in an advantageous sale to Pitney Bowes.
Stevie Awards were handed out in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women at the gala event at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on November 12. More than 1,200 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
Finalists in the competition were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging in September and October of 2010. Final judging was conducted by members of the awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors in late October to select Stevie Award winners from among the finalists.
Earth Class Mail was also a finalist for the Stevie Award for “Best Turnaround of the Year.”
