PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PhoCusWright Executive Conference 2010
ITA Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative solutions for the travel industry, today announced that Hipmunk (www.hipmunk.com) has signed an agreement to use QPX™ to power airfare pricing and shopping capabilities for its recently-launched flight search site. With ITA, Hipmunk provides users with access to the most complete, accurate airfare search results using a simple, intuitive user interface that allows them to quickly and easily filter flight data based on travel preferences.
“We built Hipmunk to take the agony out of flight search,” said Adam Goldstein, co-founder, Hipmunk. “In ITA, we’ve found a partner that can provide the accuracy and speed we need to deliver an even better user experience.”
Hipmunk has a unique method for finding flights, based on the needs of users rather than advertisers. For example, Hipmunk automatically filters out irrelevant flight results, and sorts results by “agony” rather than price. Additionally, Hipmunk has fast and convenient customization tools, including instant sorting and intuitive sliders.
“It is always good to see new start-ups entering the field,” said Jeremy Wertheimer, president and CEO of ITA Software. “ITA is happy to partner with Hipmunk to help them improve the online travel experience.”
Hipmunk is a website that’s reinventing the user experience for flight search. Launched in August 2010, Hipmunk has already referred millions of dollars worth of successful bookings. Hipmunk was started by Steve Huffman (co-founder of Reddit) and Adam Goldstein (a published technical author at age 16). Hipmunk is based in San Francisco, California.
