MCLEAN, Va.--()--iCore Networks, the D.C.-based operator of the nation’s largest commercial Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) network, today announced a new client partnership through which The World Resources Institute (WRI), a leading environmental think tank, becomes the first customer to be fully managed and supported by iCore’s second Network Access Center (NAC).
“Through the upgraded hardware, advanced software and true geographic redundancy built into our 2nd NAC, we have what it takes to support WRI as it pursues visionary and ambitious environmental action around the world.”
“iCore is committed to driving much lower operating costs and much higher value so WRI can continue its 25-year mission to find solutions to today’s complex environmental challenges, which are global in nature,” said iCore Chairman and CEO Stephen Canton. “Through the upgraded hardware, advanced software and true geographic redundancy built into our 2nd NAC, we have what it takes to support WRI as it pursues visionary and ambitious environmental action around the world.”
WRI was looking for a telecom system to support their always on the go team. Out of WRI’s 225 employees, 50 or more travel globally at any given time, therefore, WRI was in the need of a telecom system that could support a remote workforce efficiently. Along with iCore’s ability to deliver a secure and reliable network, iCore’s service allows WRI’s team to become a mobile workforce through their Call Forwarding and Voicemail to E-mail features as well as provide an upgraded conferencing capability to enable WRI to carry out their global mission, while always staying connected to their customers and team.
iCore’s state-of the-art operations center hosts a fully functional lab environment consisting of Cisco, BroadSoft and Linux-based systems supported by two fully redundant data centers monitored 24/7/365 at the facility in McLean, Va. iCore’s enhanced VoPI system, which supports the mission critical nature of non-profits, is the most fault tolerant and secure voice and data network available to customers in the D.C. area.
The typical customer installation in iCore’s network consists of a primary private circuit connected to one of the two geographically redundant and technologically mirrored Network Access Centers (NACs), with a managed backup circuit hosted by the second NAC. Both NACs are equipped with primary and backup data servers.
