MEMPHIS, Tenn.--()--Gary Wunderlich, CEO of Wunderlich Securities announced the appointment of Gregory J. Simpson, CFA as a Senior Vice President in Equity Research. He will cover the Medical Devices & Technology sector from the Firm’s St. Louis Office. Mr. Simpson joins Wunderlich Securities from Stifel Nicolaus, Inc. where he served as the Principal Senior Medical Device Analyst and Co-Head of their Health Care Group.

In addition to research, Wunderlich’s Equity Capital Markets Group announced an alliance with David Stastny, a principal with Centaur Partners, to provide a strong investment banking presence in these industries.
Greg has followed the Medical Device Technology sector since 1994. Mr. Simpson ranked as the #1 Medical Device Analyst by Forbes/Starmine for earnings estimate accuracy and #2 for Stock Picking (out of 70 ranked analysts) in 2007. Mr. Simpson is well known in his field and appears regularly as an expert on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, and Fox Business Channel.
Prior to Stifel, he was the lead medical device analyst for A.G. Edwards & Sons where he expanded the health care group from 2 to 11 senior analysts over a three year period. Mr. Simpson earned Bachelor of Science, Finance and Accounting from St. Louis University and an MBA from the University of Missouri. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute.
