NEW YORK--()--Ping pong legend, hustler and personality Marty Reisman has announced the launch of Table Tennis Nation, a new “amateurs only” ping pong membership organization introducing a new 3-on-3 style of play and custom sandpaper paddles. Table Tennis Nation will unveil the innovative new tournament style and paddles on November 5 at SPiN New York, the world's coolest ping pong social club.
“Every aspect of Table Tennis Nation, from our sandpaper paddles that make it easier to keep the ball in play to our cash prizes and team approach, is designed to make ping pong social and fun for players of all levels”
Table Tennis Nation is led by investors Reisman, Sir Harold Evans, SPiN New York and STAG International, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of table tennis equipment. Cooper Fallek, a young sports and entertainment entrepreneur, will act as Chief Operating Officer.
“Every aspect of Table Tennis Nation, from our sandpaper paddles that make it easier to keep the ball in play to our cash prizes and team approach, is designed to make ping pong social and fun for players of all levels,” said Marty Reisman, President of Table Tennis Nation. “We’ve partnered with the hottest club, SPiN New York, to bring the millions who play basement ping pong out of the house and into a fun, social environment.”
Dubbed “The Brawl,” the new tournament style builds on the wildly successful team approach of 3-on-3 basketball, with teams of three facing off all across the country. Table Tennis Nation plans to roll out more than 100 “Brawl” tournaments for colleges, corporations, clubs and bars over the next year with cash prizes, culminating in a final event at SPiN New York featuring a $10,000 grand prize. To make it easier for players of all levels to master their game, Table Tennis Nation has also developed a new sandpaper paddle with a larger “sweet spot,” allowing for longer points and improved play.
“Table Tennis Nation brings the fun, social aspects of ping pong back to the average player, which is at the heart of what SPiN New York is all about,” said Andrew Gordon, CEO of SPiN New York
