WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verivue, Inc. announced it has signed a global distribution agreement for its portfolio of content delivery solutions with Nokia Siemens Networks. Under the multi-year agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will integrate and support Verivue’s complete range of CDN solutions, which are designed to alleviate network backbone traffic for wireline and wireless network service providers as they contend with the explosion in rich media.
The quantity and quality of video content over the Internet is rapidly increasing as users access a growing number of services. This traffic, delivered to tablets, TV set-tops, computers and mobile devices, is putting a strain on service providers’ network capacity. Verivue’s content delivery system technology enables operators to optimize network traffic and minimize the use of valuable backbone capacity.
“We’re pleased to offer the advantages of Verivue’s CDN technology to our customers around the world,” said Anthony Hill, Head of Sales, Business Solutions, WSE, Nokia Siemens Networks. “The proliferation of new video services poses a challenge that we’re uniquely positioned to meet.”
“Nokia Siemens Networks brings worldwide scale and expertise to the challenges service providers are facing,” said Jim Dolce, CEO, Verivue. “Our partnership will enable service providers to optimize their internet traffic volume and lower the cost of network infrastructure as they meet users’ growing appetite for video.”
Verivue’s leading-edge portfolio of content delivery solutions give operators a broad range of choices for both managed video networks and "Over-The-Top" (OTT) video services. Its CDN technology reduces network traffic load by replicating popular content onto strategically placed edge servers. User requests for content can then be redirected and delivered from the closest edge server, freeing up backbone capacity, ensuring consistent high-performance delivery and lowering network costs.
