Haier Introduces Terrestrial Integrated DTVs Incorporating AltoBeam DTMB Demodulators

BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Haier, a leading Chinese TV maker, released the H320 series of DTMB-ready LED TVs to the China market during the National Day Holiday (October 1, 2010). Enabled by AltoBeam’s latest DTMB demodulators, the ATBM884x family, the H320 series offers world-class performance in Synchronous Frequency Network (SFN) demodulation, complex and dynamic multi-path receiving, and interference rejection.

The DTMB, China’s homegrown terrestrial DTV standard, was released in 2006. Since the beginning of 2010, the grand-scale DTMB infrastructure buildup has been accelerated. In addition, the DTMB test spec has been published, and the DTV technical center has been established, all indicating the arrival of a high growth period for terrestrial DTV in China after years of preparation.

Indeed, according to the State Agency of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) plan, the deployment of DTMB transmission systems in all 337 Chinese cities will be completed by the end of 2010, and formal broadcasting will be started in the first quarter of 2011, based on a nation-wide roll-out plan. TV viewers will then be able to watch High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) digital channels on ATMB884x-equipped TV sets.
