BURBANK, Calif.--()--Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) is set to introduce The Wizard of Oz to the next generation of young fans with a series of programs aimed at bringing the timeless classic to new platforms, including online at wizardofozkids.com. Launch efforts are supported by a national partnership with The Parenting Group, inviting fans of The Wizard of Oz to follow the Yellow Brick Road in a fun-for-all-ages contest for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood.
To kick off the The Wizard of Oz Kids efforts, WBCP, in association with KidsWB.com, will introduce wizardofozkids.com, a brand new interactive site for kids 2-11, featuring games, activities, downloadables and more. The site will continue to roll out fresh, innovative content for kids over the next year to fully bring the world of Oz to fans everywhere. Fans can also visit WBshop.com to discover and own an array of The Wizard of Oz products and merchandise.
Just in time for Halloween, the online destination features film-inspired costumes, merchandise, and even ideas for at-home activities, featuring the classic Wizard of Oz characters.
The national online sweepstakes and photo contest, hosted at www.parenting.com/wizardofoz, culminates during the Halloween season and will award winners with prizes inspired by the classic film. The contest encourages families to dress up as the iconic characters from The Wizard of Oz. Entrants can then upload their photos to an online gallery and consumers can vote on their favorites. All fans are invited to also enter a sweepstakes with winners awarded daily, during a six-week period, with a 48-piece role play dress-up trunk from Rubie’s Costume Co.
Photo contest winners will be judged by the public on originality and creativity. They will be announced in December and featured in an upcoming issue of Parenting magazine. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded with an all-expense paid trip for a family of four to Hollywood, CA, a Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour, a professional family photo shoot, a private screening of The Wizard of Oz 4D Experience and The Wizard of Oz merchandise.
The Wizard of Oz is one of the most beloved and iconic motion pictures of all time, filled with timeless sentiments and values cherished by multiple generations. Originally released in 1939, more than one billion consumers have experienced the classic story of Dorothy and friends in the Land of Oz.
