Ooyala Moves Into the Living Room with Roku

Ooyala Adds Roku Custom Channels to Its Multiplatform Video Offering

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Publishers looking to reach viewers in the living room with online video now can reach them more easily with Ooyala. Ooyala, the leading end-to-end online video platform provider, today announced a new partnership with Roku Inc., maker of the popular and award-winning family of Roku streaming players. The deal gives Ooyala publishers the ability to create custom-branded video channels for Roku boxes.

With this integration, Ooyala publishers can now reach Roku’s customer base of more than a half million. The out-of-the-box integration requires no added development work and makes creating a customer channel quick and easy.

A Roku custom channel is an ideal way for content owners to put their videos in living rooms without investing heavily. Roku's open platform allows seamless delivery to TVs over the Internet. Content owners can deliver their content directly to the TV using a customer’s home broadband Internet connection.

Ooyala customer, Alloy Digital, a division of Alloy Media + Marketing, is the first content partner to implement the Roku integration. Alloy’s premium video content, distributed through its digital entertainment network, AlloyTV, is now available as a custom channel on Roku devices.
