T-System Introduces DigitalShare to Integrate Digital Technology with Paper Documentation Solutions for the Emergency Department

Partnership with Shareable Ink to offer the efficiency of paper and the data of electronic documentation without disrupting clinical workflow or patient care

DALLAS & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--T-System, Inc., the industry leader in clinical, business and IT solutions for hospital emergency departments (EDs), today announced the release of its newest solution, DigitalShareTM. DigitalShare incorporates the proven workflow and content of the paper T-Sheets®, powered with digital technology, to enable clinicians to capture clinical and workflow data without disrupting patient care. The data can then be utilized to provide important quality and process metrics to hospital and physician leadership and facilitate sharing of clinical data across the community of care. This new solution was made possible through a strategic partnership with Shareable Ink, a healthcare information technology vendor that provides an enterprise-grade digital pen and paper platform for effortless data capture and immediate transformation into electronic output.

“We set the standard for clinical documentation and continuously strive to find new ways to help leverage that content. We selected Shareable Ink because of its scalable and extensible platform and shared vision of making healthcare IT more accessible without disruption to workflow.”

“DigitalShare provides a powerful option that helps hospitals and emergency departments take advantage of an automated solution built upon T-System’s robust clinical content and workflow expertise utilized in more than 1,700 EDs,” said Sunny Sanyal, CEO of T-System. “We set the standard for clinical documentation and continuously strive to find new ways to help leverage that content. We selected Shareable Ink because of its scalable and extensible platform and shared vision of making healthcare IT more accessible without disruption to workflow.”

With DigitalShare, clinicians continue to document patient encounters on familiar paper T-Sheets with the flexibility and efficiency of pen and paper. Behind the scenes, data is captured through advanced technology, providing clinical and process feedback and reports comparable to an electronic health record (EHR). Users can then instantly share, view or edit information through a secure, Web-based portal, where automatic alerts for incomplete documentation prompt clinicians to address deficiencies, thereby improving compliance. The real-time alerts, dashboards and reporting tools help clinicians and administrators make intelligent and immediate decisions to improve efficiency and quality.

Additionally, DigitalShare will facilitate compliance with Stage 1 requirements for those seeking reimbursement for meaningful use of an EHR. Through DigitalShare, hospitals will continue to enjoy the speed, affordability and convenience of paper documentation, while introducing real-time analytics and data for integration into their EHR system.

“We understand the increased pressures on healthcare providers to document electronically while maintaining focus on patient care, and our approach works to minimize this challenge,” said Stephen S. Hau, president and CEO of Shareable Ink. “By partnering with T-System, we’re extending our reach into the emergency department market to help deliver on the promise of electronic health records without disrupting workflow or adding work to already stressed healthcare organizations.”

T System’s DigitalShare will be featured at the American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sept. 28 – Sept. 30. To learn more, please stop by T-System’s booth (#1743).
