HOB Debuts New Version of Secure Remote Access Software Offering Expanded Security Functionality and Platform Support

HAWTHORNE, N.Y.--()--HOB, Inc. today announced it has debuted an enhanced version of its browser-based secure remote access software – HOB Remote Desktop VPN 1.4. The new SSL-VPN solution provides users with secure remote access to enterprise data and applications as well as desktop computers. The new version offers expanded security functionality, additional platform support and an upgraded reporting dashboard. Bundled with this newest version of HOB RD VPN is a solution which offers full network access utilizing technology based on the company’s PPP Tunnel. Dubbed HOB RD VPN 1.4 NetAccess, the solution is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Linus, Solaris, Max OS X and FreeBSD.

“With security always top of mind, we have upgraded our platform on many fronts to meet the needs of our customers”

Available now, the HOB RD VPN provides complete network access through the HOB PPP Tunnel, replacing the classical, locally installed IPSec VPN client. With this, enterprises are offered all the advantages of a highly secure IPSec VPN, without any installation on the client, which IPSec VPN approaches require. The new version also features a new logging and reporting dashboard which greatly simplifies fault analysis.

For enhanced security, the new version supports SmartCard integration for Linux and Windows which can be utilized quickly without any additional software installation. Additionally, the new version includes an Anti-Split Tunneling feature which prevents users from accessing public or private networks other than the corporate network to which they are connected via the HOB RD VPN.

"With security always top of mind, we have upgraded our platform on many fronts to meet the needs of our customers,” explained HOB's CEO Klaus Brandstätter. “Specifically, with the new HOB RD VPN, authentication is made using a user ID and password, tokens or certificates on SmartCards -- meeting the strictest demands on IT security. Plus, we’ve overhauled our reporting dashboard and now support additional platforms.
