Embassy Suites Hotels Brings the “Fan” Back to Facebook

Ardent Fans Given the Opportunity to Take Their Passion on the Road with Embassy Suites Über Fan Contest

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Throughout the month of September, Embassy Suites Hotels is bringing “fans” back to Facebook. But don’t expect to find everyday run-of-the-mill fans on the Embassy Facebook page. These fans do more than click a button to show their love – or “like.” These fans are entering the Embassy Suites Über Fan Contest.* The all-suites hotel brand wants to reward one grand prize winner with the tools to take their passion on the road: a $10,000 cash prize, 20 free nights at any Embassy Suites and an iPhone 4 to document the experience.

Über fans are people who are willing to travel 24 hours straight by school bus to cheer on their favorite team at every away game. They camp out overnight on an unforgiving Hollywood sidewalk to catch a mere glimpse of their celebrity crush gracing the red carpet. No matter the area of fandom, from baseball to the current singer “fever” sweeping the nation -- Embassy Suites wants to separate the regular old fans from this special, die-hard breed of über fans with their latest call-to-action. The hotel brand is asking people to share their most extreme fan moments for a chance to win an exciting prize that will help them take their fandom on the road and pursue their ultimate adventures.

Now through September 30, people of all passions can enter the Über Fan contest on the official Embassy Suites Facebook page, Facebook.com/EmbassySuitesHotels. Aficionados of all types are asked to upload a photo illustrating their most extreme fan moment with an accompanying caption, explaining how taking their passion on the road with Embassy Suites’ grand prize would help them go from fan to über fan. From baseball fans who want to visit every stadium in the country to music lovers who want to follow their favorite artist on tour, Embassy Suites Hotels wants to see and hear about all types of extreme pursuits of fandom.

To enter the Über Fan Contest, consumers can visit the Embassy Suites Facebook page, “like” Embassy Suites Hotels and submit their fan photo and corresponding caption by September 30, 2010. Five finalists will be selected by a panel of judges, but the ultimate decision will be in the hands of the Embassy Suites Facebook fans, who will vote and select the grand prize winner among the finalists. The winning Über Fan will be announced on or around October 15, 2010.
