NEW YORK--()--In response to strong demand from federal government agencies, Passlogix®, Inc., today announced the formation of a Passlogix Federal User Group and launch of a Common Application Single Sign-on Template Library specifically for federal agencies using Passlogix’s v-GO® Access Accelerator™ solutions. The twin initiatives will support the government organizations that have already purchased more than 1 million v-GO licenses to overcome password-related productivity, security and compliance challenges.
“These two new programs are designed to support our growing government customer base by providing a forum for discussing various access-related challenges as well as tools for accelerating v-GO deployments.”
v-GO advantages include the ability to use Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card and/or Common Access Card (CAC) for easy application access with automated password entry via v-GO Single Sign-On, unique on-demand functionality that extends single sign-on to remote as well as mobile and temporary users, and integration with all leading identity management solutions for automated provisioning and deprovisioning of single sign-on capabilities.
The Passlogix Federal User Group plans to meet in the Washington, D.C. area and through a series of web conferences on a quarterly basis to enable government v-GO users to share best practices related to password management, secure application and remote user access, HSPD-12 compliance, PIV and/or CAC integration, FIPS compliance and related topics.
The Passlogix Common Application Template Library for government accounts will provide out-of-the-box integration of v-GO Single Sign-On and other components of the v-GO suite with common U.S. Government applications such as GovTrip, BlackBerry Desktop Manager , Lotus Notes, SkillSoft 24x7 and a number of host emulator accessed applications.
“Our Federal practice encompasses some of the largest agencies in the U.S. government, and interest continues to grow as federal IT managers recognize the appeal of offering v-GO’s single sign-on capabilities with PIV or CAC card use,” said Sean Harris, Vice President of Global Sales, of Passlogix. “These two new programs are designed to support our growing government customer base by providing a forum for discussing various access-related challenges as well as tools for accelerating v-GO deployments.”
“We applaud Passlogix’s ongoing efforts to address the evolving needs of their government users,” said Craig P. Abod, president of Carahsoft which serves as Passlogix sole GSA distributor to the public sector market. “These new initiatives further illustrate the company’s commitment to ensuring that its customers have the access to the latest information and tools to continually improve their application security, regulatory compliance, and password management capabilities.”
v-GO Single Sign-On enables on-site and remote end users to securely access any Windows, Web, Java, Citrix or mainframe application with a single Windows logon rather than remembering, managing and inputting different passwords for each account. v-GO stores and automatically enters application passwords on the user’s behalf when prompted. Other capabilities include out of the box integration with strong authentication devices such as PIV and CAC cards, enforcement of strict password policies, automation of password selection and changes, self-service reset of forgotten Windows passwords, and comprehensive account usage audits that streamline identity management deployments.
Other components of the v-GO Access Accelerator Suite offer related sign-on, authentication and provisioning capabilities, including the industry’s first solution for managing shared administrator credentials under the ESSO infrastructure.
The Passlogix v-GO deployments range from hundreds of seats to a 200,000+-user project that is the world’s largest ESSO implementation. v-GO’s wizard-based integration eliminates the need to write scripts or connectors even to homegrown or legacy applications, and the ability to install the solution on existing servers eliminates the expense of adding dedicated or proprietary hardware. These and other features shorten deployment time, lower the total cost of ownership, and accelerate payback on investment.
