PLANO, Texas--()--Dairy.com, the dairy industry's leading provider of web-based supply chain solutions, today announced that it will introduce DairyTraceTM at the 2010 International Dairy Show. DairyTrace will help dairy plants trace raw milk back to the origin farms with greater efficiency.
“Empowering dairy plants with track and trace capabilities addresses one of the industry’s long-standing challenges”
Historically, it has been difficult for dairy plants to manage milk load receipt down to the farm level. With DairyTrace, users will have access to tools that help track the source of raw milk back to the originating farms in the event of a product recall.
“Empowering dairy plants with track and trace capabilities addresses one of the industry’s long-standing challenges,” said Scott Sexton, CEO of Dairy.com. “Pending legislation may create a greater burden on dairy plants to provide food traceability, and DairyTrace will help reduce the impact on plant operations by automating the tracking process for plant managers.”
Customers who currently use Dairy.com Receiving will be able to extend the value of their milk receiving solution with DairyTrace. For plant personnel, the DairyTrace solution will:
- Automate and consolidate tracking
- Offer a competitive advantage
- Complement current manufacturing and distribution systems
In addition to introducing DairyTrace, Dairy.com will present a special sustainability session at the International Dairy Show. The session will take a look at how the dairy industry is using on-demand solutions to improve transportation operations, positively impacting the bottom line as well as the environment.
