Allison & Partners Selects Big Brothers Big Sisters as Its Pro Bono Nonprofit of Record

Agency will work with leading nonprofit’s team to launch national rebranding effort

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fast growing public relations and public affairs firm Allison & Partners has selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as its 2010-2011 national pro-bono client. Allison & Partners used its proprietary Cause Marketing Accelerator™ process, designed to create cause marketing partnerships that resonate with a corporation's core values, employees, clients and other stakeholders, to select Big Brothers Big Sisters as its national charity campaign beneficiary. The process has been used by corporations (including HomeGoods, Boost Mobile, Affinity Group and Career Education Corporation), to help companies and their chosen causes receive the maximum benefit from their relationship. Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor-supported network of volunteer mentors for youth, provides careful mentor matching and ongoing support for 255,000 children, who are primarily those of single, low-income and incarcerated parents. The agency will donate more than $150,000 in services to the organization throughout the year.

“The entire Allison & Partners team is committed to supporting kids through education and mentorship and looks forward to creating an integrated branding, media relations and digital media campaign that will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of America accomplish its goals.”

Allison & Partners will support Big Brothers Big Sisters new national branding campaign, “Start Something.” The “Start Something” campaign will re-introduce Big Brothers Big Sisters by redefining mentoring in a more powerful way, positioning the organization as timely and relevant as well as illustrating why mentoring is so important and so deserving of funding.

“We are thrilled to begin working with Allison & Partners,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters of America President and Chief Executive Officer Karen J. Mathis. “We recognized the success that Allison & Partners has had with high profile Social Impact clients to drive positive change and make ideas catch fire. As an agency with deep roots in the nonprofit sector, as well as unsurpassed media relations and digital strategy professionals, we believe the Allison & Partners team will help us expand and extend our brand through our new campaign.”

“Allison & Partners shares Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission to inspire kids and teens to do great work and exceed expectations, preparing them for a successful future,” said Scott Pansky, Partner and co-founder, who led the Cause Marketing Accelerator process for Allison & Partners. "The entire Allison & Partners team is committed to supporting kids through education and mentorship and looks forward to creating an integrated branding, media relations and digital media campaign that will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of America accomplish its goals."

About Big Brothers Big Sisters

Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a system of ongoing evaluation and support, which is proven by independent studies to help families by improving the odds that “Littles” will perform better in school and avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with their parents and others.
