Proskauer Represents Sumner Regional Health Systems in Its $156.8 Million Sale to LifePoint Hospitals

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Proskauer today announced that it advised its longtime client, Sumner Regional Health Systems, Inc. (SRHS), in the closing of its sale to LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPNT) (LifePoint).

Proskauer advised SRHS’s Board of Directors on the structuring and negotiation of the successful sale transaction with LifePoint for a cash price of $156.8 million. Upon execution of the definitive purchase agreement for the sale of substantially all of SRHS’s assets, Proskauer’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring team, led by Jeff Marwil, directed SRHS’s April filing for protection under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. LifePoint was selected as the prevailing bidder in the §363 sale process.
