SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MediConnect Global Inc. today announced that CEO Amy Rees Anderson has been named to the Sundance Institute Utah Advisory Board.
Founded by actor and director Robert Redford, the non-profit Sundance Institute was created to assist promising independent filmmakers, producers, directors, screenwriters, composers, playwrights and artists from throughout the world in the development of their craft. The Institute owns and manages the annual Sundance Film Festival, the world’s most prominent festival for independent film held in Park City, Utah.
“I feel deeply honored to serve on the state board of one of the world’s most productive and influential cultural institutions,” said Anderson. “I am a strong believer in the Institute’s vision and mission, and look forward to engaging in activities that will help Utah, the Institute and the work of the aspiring artists it serves.”
The Sundance Institute’s Utah Advisory Board was created to help develop, enhance and leverage relationships between the Institute and Utah’s business, government and arts communities. The Board assists in projects and activities designed to provide significant mutual benefit for Utah and the Institute, ranging from government and community relations to fundraising and service as spokespersons.
Under Anderson’s leadership, MediConnect has become the global leader in online medical record retrieval, and has achieved 1,000-percent revenue growth from 2004-2009, with numerous clients in the legal and insurance industries, including four of the five leading health insurers in the United States. The company is also a leading provider in the emerging personal health record (PHR) industry. Its innovative myMediConnect PHR portal was one of only four chosen by the Obama administration to participate in a multi-year Medicare pilot program.
In addition to her service on the Sundance Institute Utah Advisory Board, Anderson has also recently joined the Eccles School of Business National Advisory Board at the University of Utah and was appointed by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) to serve as chair of the state’s Motion Picture Advisory Committee. Anderson, who was named the Ernst & Young Utah Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007, teaches entrepreneurship at several universities, including Brigham Young University, the University of Utah and Westminster College.
