Alyssa A. Grikscheit Joins Sidley Austin LLP as a Partner in New York

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sidley Austin LLP announced today that Alyssa A. Grikscheit has joined Sidley as a partner in the Latin America and investment funds, advisers and derivatives practices. She will be based in the New York office and will focus on cross-border transactions and alternative investment funds.

Ms. Grikscheit has significant experience representing clients in Latin American, emerging market and other cross-border transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and fund formation. She has represented companies and private equity funds in the negotiation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and has represented sponsors in the formation of investment funds, particularly those involving cross-border investment or alternative assets.

Ms. Grikscheit received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, her A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College and her Diploma of Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe. She is the Co-Chair of the Inter-American Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s International Section. She is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a Member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Business Law, Negotiated Acquisitions Committee and a member of the International Bar Association. Ms. Grikscheit is fluent in Spanish and French. She is also active in numerous pro bono activities. Ms Grikscheit was ranked in Chambers USA in 2009 and 2010 in the New York category of Latin American Investment.
