RICHARDSON, Texas--()--Taqua®, LLC, a leading supplier of next-generation wireline and wireless switching and backhaul solutions, today announced that two more rural independent telephone companies have chosen Taqua’s T7000® Intelligent Switching System (T7000) to replace their legacy Siemens switches.
“With the system’s Class 5 on a card architecture, it truly future proofs our telephony network.”
Olin Telephone Company provides business and residential telephony, internet dial-up, DSL, and cable services to the Eastern Iowa communities of Olin and Morley. Lake Livingston Telephone Company has been serving the Southeastern Texas community of Memorial Point since 1974. Today, both companies provide their communities with a variety of dial-up, broadband, telephony and cable services. To continue providing cost-effective, advanced telephone features to its subscriber base, Olin and Lake Livingston have chosen to replace their legacy Class 5 Siemens’ DCO and Strongberg Carlson telephone switching systems with the T7000.
"The T7000 is a flexible switching solution that integrates with our existing network infrastructure and enables the cost-effective delivery of the latest services that our customers demand,” said Rodney Cozart, general manager of Olin Telephone. “With the system’s Class 5 on a card architecture, it truly future proofs our telephony network.”
“We went with Taqua and its T7000 because of the system’s reputation as a proven switch replacement and Taqua's reputation in our market,” said Terry Gentle, general manager of Lake Livingston Telephone. “The T7000 has replaced scores of legacy Class 5s and Taqua’s customer service reputation is second to none.”
Taqua’s T7000 is a leader in Class 4/5 switch replacement and with over 350 deployments has successfully replaced virtually every brand and vintage of Class 5 switch in North America. The T7000 is based on a patented “switch-on-a-card” design, in which all the functions of a Class 4/5 switch, wireless gateway or IMS element are performed on a single circuit pack. The T7000 can also streamline network routing and even act as Gateway MSC for optimizing Class 4 routing. All features and services can be delivered over TDM or IP interfaces through hundreds of available access devices through GR303, SIP, MGCP, NCS, H.248 and a variety of 3GPP/3GPP2 protocols. This patented design leads to a substantial decrease in deployment costs and the ability to expand with TDM, IP, or wireless services on a “pay as you go basis.”
