LOS ANGELES--()--The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools has released the second of three Public Service Announcements intended to generate support for the continuing reform of LA’s schools. The new spot, produced by Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket and voiced by comedian Carlos Mencia, recently hit the airwaves. Spanish and radio versions are being released as well.
In addition, Partnership billboards are now up downtown at LA Live, and in East LA, Watts and Westwood through the generosity of Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket; and Partnership promos running during programming on Fox Sports.
Last year, Fox Sports West initiated their strategic partnership with the organization when the sports network first adopted Santee Education Complex, a 3000-student high school in South Los Angeles. The work with Santee has included job shadowing, classroom talks, technical assistance, school-wide luncheons, providing uniforms, and more.
The work with Santee brought Fox Sports West executives into the lives of Santee and its students first-hand, triggering the idea and launch of today’s media campaign with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools.
The goal of the campaign is to get people involved in improving public education in Los Angeles. The immediate objectives are to 1) raise overall awareness of the need for ed reform, 2) encourage other corporate citizens in Los Angeles to follow Fox Sport West’s lead and adopt a school, and 3) drive more traffic to the new Partnership website. In the first four weeks, the site has drawn over 2,000 unique daily visitors.
A 3rd PSA is scheduled for release in the next several weeks. A 30-minute program on public education reform in LA is slated for the fall.

The largest non-district school operator in Los Angeles, the Partnership currently manages 21 schools with approximately 20,000 students and 1500 employees. The Partnership is a 501(c)3 non-profit education management organization with nearly 30 employees.
