PLEASANT GROVE, Utah--()--TestOut Corporation, the leader in online labs for IT certification training, today launched browser-based versions of three of its most popular courses: LabSim A+ Essentials, LabSim A+ Practical Application and LabSim Configuring Windows 7. Instructors and students can now interact with the same hands-on labs and other active learning activities through any existing Windows PC or Mac with a web browser and an Internet connection, without the need to install additional software.
“We implemented browser-based access to LabSim because we are committed to improving online course delivery while we maintain the quality and fidelity of our interactive labs and training materials.”
In addition, because the browser-based courses are stored on a central LabSim server, TestOut can update the courses as soon as new features and changes to certification requirements become available.
“Enabling students and instructors to access LabSim from a web browser dramatically improves their access to the most up-to-date online labs, videos and practice exams, while saving academic institutions significant hard drive space and the need to install and re-install new software as updated content become available,” said Noel Vallejo, CEO of TestOut Corporation. “We implemented browser-based access to LabSim because we are committed to improving online course delivery while we maintain the quality and fidelity of our interactive labs and training materials.”
Once an instructor, student or campus administrator logs in to LabSim in a browser and is authenticated with a user name and password, they are able to view and manage their own LabSim account information, LabSim course library content, built-in instructor and student reporting tools, assessment units and evaluation tools. Course progress is tracked online for quick feedback.
The LabSim online labs simulate a physical lab that lets students experiment with realistic, real-world scenarios from their own computer, freely working within a wide variety of virtual environments. In addition to the online labs, the courses include instructor-led videos and practice exams that track back to topics on which students need additional work. In addition, instructors are able to track, evaluate and score every lab exercise and scenario in real time.
