Master Storyteller and Game Designer Warren Spector to Keynote PAX

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Warren Spector – master storyteller and game designer of one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year, Disney Epic Mickey – will share his insight on games and gaming culture as the opening keynote speaker at the PAX conference in Seattle on Friday, Sept. 3.

Spector, known for his innovative views on game design with his mantra “playstyle matters” and hallmark “player choice” gameplay, is currently the general manager and creative director at Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point and is leading the development of Disney Epic Mickey. Prior to his work at Disney, Spector started the Ion Storm Studio in Austin and is best known for his work on blockbuster video game franchises such as Thief, System Shock, and Deus Ex.

His current project, Disney Epic Mickey, draws on 80 years of rich Disney history in order to take Mickey Mouse, the most iconic, recognized and beloved character in the world, and extend him to be a hero in video games through a new animated world known as Wasteland.

Spector’s keynote will kick off three days of celebrating all things touching on gaming culture. Tens of thousands of gamers from across the globe will participate in panel discussions, concerts and tournaments, as well as being able to see the latest pen-and-paper, tabletop, CCG, PC and console video games in the exhibition hall.

$35 single-day passes are still available, but the 3-day badges are sold out. The passes are all-access for events, concerts, parties, panels and freeplay areas. Only "sealed deck" tournaments, which require new physical product in order to be played, have an additional fee.
