INDIANAPOLIS--()--Exacq Technologies is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of the exacqVision EL-S line of hybrid video surveillance appliances available in 8 and 16 analog input systems. In addition to 8 or 16 analog cameras per server, each system can also seamlessly incorporate up to 24 IP channels to create 32 and 40 channel systems respectively.
“We now have a low-cost 8-input hybrid system to offer our customers. More importantly, the technology that we’ve developed for the EL-S has allowed us to lower the cost on our 16-input systems as well.”
exacqVision EL-S is a low-cost, highly efficient hybrid video surveillance server that utilizes the same VMS (video management system) software used with all exacqVision servers, packaged in an energy efficient, compact chassis running an embedded Linux operating system for added reliability. Using embedded Linux on a solid-state drive ensures that the unit will be available to users in the event of a hard drive failure.
The EL-S achieves full D1 resolution across 8 analog cameras at 30 frames per second NTSC (25 fps PAL). File sizes are minimized via the use of H.264 video compression. Multiple exacqVision EL-S systems, as well as any exacqVision system, can be accessed simultaneously by the freely distributed cross-platform client software (Windows, Linux or Macintosh). The average power consumption of exacqVision EL-S is only one-third to one-fifth that of traditional IP video servers, resulting in hundreds of dollars in energy cost savings over the lifetime of the unit, as well as higher reliability from a cooler-running chassis.
“The new EL-S line is the second generation of our EL servers released last year,” notes Roger Shuman, Marketing Manager, Exacq Technologies. “We now have a low-cost 8-input hybrid system to offer our customers. More importantly, the technology that we’ve developed for the EL-S has allowed us to lower the cost on our 16-input systems as well.”
All exacqVision servers include web server software which allows access to live and recorded video with web browsers and mobile applications. Mobile “apps” are currently available for Apple iPhone® and iPad™ while an Android™ app will be available soon.
